Afionas: All you need to know

First off, would you like to stay in Afionas? Click here

The newly famous Corfu beach is Porto Timoni Beach. Have you heard of it? It is the one that has the sea on both sides. It is the one where you have to hike 30 minutes down breathtaking nature. Also, the one where you will take a picture and it will be your profile picture for the next year. Yes, Porto Timoni beach is in the village of Afionas, Corfu.

Many come to this village, park the car and walk straight to the beach. However, they are missing out on a very crucial part. The small village is very traditional with old houses, picturesque views and hospitable people. In this blog, I will discuss, parking, the souvenir shops, views of the village, the restaurants and also your famous Porto Timoni Beach.

Parking

Parking during the summer is very difficult in this village, but the problem has been solved and that is because there is a parking right next to the square. It is a big parking, with cold refreshments and snacks. The parking is 5 euros for all day!

If you need some more information on how to get to Porto Timoni Beach or Afionas for that matter check out this blog

Gift Shop

Right after you park your car in this parking lot you have your first souvenir shop! It has some pretty intriguing stuff that i would definitely take a look at to bring back home with me, either for a gift or even for yourself.

LOCATION

There are these coasters made out of marble with the pictures of the village on it that would make a great gift!

Here are some more pictures inside the store

Right up the street is another souvenir shop, but with olive wood!

Olive Wood shop Afionas

Many people buy kumquat for a souvenir/gift back to their country.. Because kumquat is very prevalent in Corfu, it is “Corfu’s Fruit” however, in my view something made out of olive wood is a much better gift. So while you are roaming around the beautiful village make sure to pay this shop a visit.

The VILLAGE

After you past these shops the beauty doesn’t end there. It actually is just beginning. There are multiple picturesque sites along this road that are perfect for a picture. Many people even sit down and paint it. Spring time is the time when it will have these astonishing look flowers.

A perfect view

You can find this view after walking through all those beautiful streets at the top! There is a canteen, multiple benches and a path that goes to a view of Porto Timoni Beach and a path that goes down to the beach!

Restaurants

Right next to the view you see above is maybe one of the best restaurants (in terms of sunset view) in Corfu.

Anemos has a 4.7 star rating on google and guess out of how many reviews? 1500. So i think that can speak for itself...

The 3 Brothers is a restaurant/hotel with another amazing view of the Diapontia islands and sunset.

Luma Restaurant

Panorama Restaurant: another amazing view that speaks for itself

Porto Timoni Beach

Last, but obviously not least, we have one of the most famous beaches in Corfu.
Only one picture is necessary to get you to go.
