How to get to Rovinia Beach (with photos)

rovinia beach

Rovinia is located in the village Liapades, which is 20 km from Corfu Town. Since social media has become a big thing, Rovinia has quickly become one of the most popular beaches in Corfu. It is a wild beach with a difficult road to get down by car. Then a 5-10 minute walk with some amazing views along the way. It is not surprising to me that Rovinia has become so popular in the past couple of years. The crystal clear waters, amazing views, hiking trails in the mountain, no hotels, no buildings, just absolute nature and some people, of course. Some people might have a difficult time getting to Rovinia because of how many roads there are in Liapades and the lack of street signs.

There are also many different hiking paths in the village to different beaches. For links to these scroll down to the bottom of the page!

So here is a step-by-step guide on how to get to Rovinia with pictures.

First, once you get to the supermarket Athina you will take the left up the hill.

Once you get to the top of the hill you will see a sign for Rovinia to the right. If you are with a car I would suggest to park here. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from here, but it is worth it because the road is not good. There is a paid parking about half way down but when i go I always park here.

Going down with a caravan or trailer is not allowed because the road is very small and there is not many places to turn around.  You will get stuck and it will take a while to get back up.

It will turn into a rock road like this one.

There are 2 parking lots, you will see the first one on your left, however, there is also a second on further down on your right. You can find it on the map above. Same price but the second one is a bigger parking and closer to the beach!

After going a little bit down the road you will reach the paid parking for Rovinia. It is 4 euros. You will still have to walk about 5 minutes to get to the beach. However, there is also some free parking that you will find if you are lucky.

This is another parking area that is free. It is the closest to Rovinia, but again, the road is not good. I would only suggest going down if you have a car that is high off the ground. Also, depending on what time you go, chances are it will be full.

After you get out of the car and start walking you will go down the stairs that leads you to the beach. There are multiple pit stops that you can take leading you to nice views.

Keep your eyes open for the trails to your right!

It is a gorgeous beach that also has a trail leading up to the mountain. The trail will lead you to a hole in the mountain that the locals call “h tripa tou ha”( Ha’s hole). It is possible to get into the hole filled with water by jumping into the sea and diving under the mountain. However, this can be dangerous so only do it if you are with the proper guide and equipment.

If you keep on moving forward on this trail you will reach an abandoned villa, then you will reach a small beach called Glyko. Finally, after that beach, you will arrive at Limni!

There is also a path that continues on to go to Iliodoros, but it is not easy to find and it takes about an hour to get there from Limni.

If you are looking for accommodation close to this wonderful beach, Villa Casa Nuova is perfect. The Instagram page for this villa is Villa_Casa_Nuova. It has a pool and is only a 10-minute walk to Rovinia.
