Welcome Guests of Sun’s Gift’s Studios! It will be a pleasure to have you staying at Sun’s Gift Studios. Corfu has a number of things to do while you are here on the island. There are many different types of beaches, tavernas, bars, cafes, hikes, views to see that fit all different target markets. Here I will give you many different suggestions of what you can do around Paleokastritsa, Liapades, and all over Corfu. Please feel free to search through my blogs to find what you may find interesting! Also, don’t hesitate to ask us any questions!
Rovina Beach https://goo.gl/maps/eMgq9NRqfPrBgB5c9
Rovinia Beach is one of the most popular wild beaches in the area. It is located in Liapades and is definitely a must on your to-do list while you are here. There is a mix between sand and pebbles here. It is about 2 KM from Sun’s Gift.
As you walk down the stairs to Rovinia pay attention to your right you will find a lovely view where you can see the sea.
When you reach the beach, over to your left, there is a small trail leading up to the mountain, for any of you nature lovers looking for a good hike.
Pay attention: Also, after about 10 minutes of walking on this hike, you will find a big hole in the ground towards your left connected to the sea! Check out my Instagram for a video of me going into it! @mycorfuexperience
If you continue on this path, you will eventually reach Limni beach. Also, Liniodoro, but Liniodoro is a long and difficult hike!
I recommend parking at the top where you see the sign for Rovinia and walk down about 15 minutes. However, if you feel comfortable, there is paid parking about half way down the steep hill and also free parking at the bottom. You will only find free parking available, if you arrive in the morning.
Note: There is also a small beach towards the right of the free parking where you might find a little more privacy!
Limni Beach https://goo.gl/maps/9zkjqARsQCTH8b9D7
Limni Beach is another beautiful beach a little bit further down the road from Rovinia. It is a unique beach because it has the sea on both sides. It is a rocky beach, so I would suggest some water shoes here! There is also a smaller beach right next to it that you can check out.
As you get closer to this beach, the road gets worse and you will need to park on the hill and walk for about 10 minutes down the mountain.
Sometimes, since it is a little far from any mini-market or cafe, there might be a little cooler with a self-service sign where you can grab a refreshing drink!
It is about 3 km from the studios.
To get to Liniodoro, you need about an hour of hiking from the center of the village Liapades! It is not an easy hike with many rocks on the road and some steep hills, but it is a good workout and makes your dip in the sea more enjoyable. So if you are a nature lover that loves to hike, this can easily be a great way to spend your day!
Liniodoro is a mix between sand and pebbles, so water shoes here would also be a good idea! The shapes of the rocks on the sides of the mountain, caused by the waves continuously hitting them is an amazing natural work of art! Also, the many different shades of greens in the mountain and the constant sunny days will leave you questioning if plants really need to be watered.
Agios Spyridon Beach Paleokastritsa https://goo.gl/maps/z8BMssSdNHRcT7p47
Agios Spyrdion Beach is the main beach in Paleokastritsa. Here is also a mix of sand and pebbles, with many different activities available. Including, boat trips, rent-a-boat, pedalos, sunbeds, tavernas, and cafes.
There is a big parking lot, however during peak season, this beach can get crowded. So, I would suggest arriving early to find parking easily!
For more information on what to do in Paleokastritsa, please feel free to visit my blog Top 5 places to visit in CORFU.
It is about 4 km for the studios.
Glyfada is more your typical beach. It is very big, only sand, with has sunbeds, watersports, beach bars, tavernas, and hotels.
There are many places to park paid and free, but again depending on your arrival time might be hard to find!
The beach bar Pazuzu, is a very upscale place with luxurious sunbed and will sometimes host popular greek singers during the summer!
This beach is also perfect for families, visit my Beaches for Children blog to find out more.
It is about a 25 minutes drive from the studios!
Barbati Beach https://goo.gl/maps/RVbRmpCJ4Bsjc5j38
Barbati is a fairly big beach also with a mix of pebbles and sand. It is on the east coast of Corfu so the water is always warmer than the west coast sea. You also have an amazing view of Albanian and also might get an Albanian radio station on your radio!
You will have a good time enjoying the calm sea on a sunbed with your drink from the beach bar Verde blu!
Corfu Town Beaches
There are a couple of different beach in Corfu Town, some having beach bars some being wild. I have a blog on the beaches in Corfu Town, feel free to check it out!
Loggas Beach https://goo.gl/maps/Kw2tGdy8dMyXYUiC8
Loggas Beach is a beautiful beautiful beach in Peroulades Corfu in the north west part of the Corfu. It is about 45-60 minute drive from the studios. There is very accessible free parking and has the famous 7th Heaven cafe/bar right above the beach.
It is a sandy beach sometimes being lost to the high tides. However, the structure of the cliffs will keep you there taking photos for a while.
Also, if you are looking to go to a beach with a great sunset, this is the one!
Porto Timoni Beach https://goo.gl/maps/8x84THS1LzeQsEvw5
Porto Timoni Beach is alos about 45 minutes from Sun’s Gift Studios and is nicer version on Limni. It has the sea on both sides and is about a 30 minute hike down steps. Along the way down there are multiple spots, where it is perfect to take a picture.
When you arrive, you will feel like you can go to two different beaches because of the bushes that separate them in the middle. If you continue on there are some nice trails for you HIKERS that will lead you to some other beaches that will give you some more privacy!
Porto Timoni is a very popular wild beach without any minimarkets or tavernas, so i would advise pack some water and a snack with you!
Ladokolla is a delicious unique traditional Greek grill restaurant. It is in the Temploni Square 10 minutes by car from the Studios. Ladokolla comes from the Greek meaning oil glue. It is a specific sheet of paper that the food is served on. They used to serve all the food on this paper and not give any plates. Since then, they have changed and do give plates to the guests, but they still serve the fries and the meat on this “ladokolla”. It is a very well-designed restaurant inside and out. They will sporadically have live music, mostly on the weekends.
Ladokolla is a Corfiot favorite. Many people come through out Corfu to eat here. In the winter, it is actually more busy than in the summer. There are no nice views or beaches around, but you get a good sense of the village life from Ladokolla. The environment is very friendly and they take very good care of their guests.
Maragkos Grill https://goo.gl/maps/vgBBnxtEfAmrF2Vc9
Maragkos Grill is a traditional grill in the square of Giannades. It has a wonderful view and is a great place to spend your evening. They have fair prices and the food is pretty good. Mostly, locals come to eat here so you can be amongst the Greeks. There are also many children in this village and they all like to come out and play in the square on their bicycles or on foot. It is a very friendly environment with a cafe/bar next store and a minimarket.
However, they do not allow parking in the square for safety, but they do have a village parking lot right below the square here.
Taverna Meraklis https://goo.gl/maps/a8Tbrm1iybTGrhGz5
Taverna Merkalis is your typical tourist taverna in Paleokastritsa. They have very good service and the food is also delicious. It is right next to Agia Triada Beach, so you can eat here after your relaxing day at this beautiful beach.
If you are really hungry and are undecided on what to order, I would suggest the mega Gyro. It is twice the size of a regular Gyro, leaving you full and satisfied.
Bella Piazza https://goo.gl/maps/2bi84PdatZLvqzgB8
This small grill is located in the square of Gardelades only a 5 minute drive from Sun’s Gift Studios.
It is a very unique old styled square with a laid back environment. It will most likely be full of locals with very few tourists, so it is a good place to get away from the chaos!
They have fair prices and the food is also really tasty! They also deliver, if you want to eat at the studios! If they don’t recognize Sun’s Gift Studios then tell them the Old Taverna of Mantzaris. For some reason, Greeks can’t remember Sun’s Gift Studios!
Nyremberge Taverna https://goo.gl/maps/Ht3itn1ZFFZirMi5A
First of all, it is called Nyremberg because Michalis the owner used to live in Nuremberg, Germany. He came back many years ago and opened up this delicious grill. Most of the locals call the place Michalis.
He is a very polite older gentlemen that is still the person behind the grill!
This place is also not your typical tourist place, localed in the valley, with no special view. However, with a mix of good food, really fair prices, good meal sizes, friendly service and some live music on the weekends, your night out should be special!
Where to get COFFEE?
Caffeina is also the go to spot for the locals. They have quick service and great coffee. They just opened up their own supermarket as well next door.
Caffeina also does delivery, so if you wake up and want a cold Freddo Espresso and a fresh tiropita (cheesepie), be sure to call them. +302663 042152. Also with this place, if they don’t understand Sun’s Gift Studios, tell them the Old Taverna of Mantzaris and also your room number.
